Adan Elmi

Born in Somaliland, came to Liverpool in the 1960s


When Adan settled in Liverpool, he became very involved with the Somali community. He was an activist who helped new Somali settlers when they first arrived in the 1990s following the Civil War in Somalia/Somaliland. He also founded and chaired the Merseyside Somali Community, one of the first of its kind to be established in Liverpool.
