L8Unseen at the Museum of Liverpool is a new cross-platform exhibition of photography, film and interactive media exploring the communities living in Liverpool 8 that has already begun to garner accolades across the UK and beyond.
‘L8,’ an area of Liverpool known simply by its postcode, has often been used as shorthand for ‘riots and inner-city deprivation in the city. The L8Unseen exhibition challenges these preconceptions, revealing hidden stories and histories from the people who live, work or have a passion for the area.
On April 2nd 2015, B3 Media and the Museum of Liverpool invited project participants along with their friends, family and communities to the opening night of the exhibition, which shares their stories through large-scale portraits, video interviews and interactive media. With over 200+ visitors the night was filled with reminiscence, pride and hope.
Marc Boothe of B3 Media produced L8Unseen, which involved extensive engagement with community groups in the area over the past few months. The team uncovered a wealth of stories dating back more than 60 years.
B3 Media will be running a series of activities and workshops around the exhibition. To stay up to date on the latest activities or to find out more about the project, find us on Twitter and Facebook or visit:
